IFR are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Professional Accountant in Red Deer, Alberta to lead our finance department with expertise and precision. Among your key responsibilities will include:
Management Reporting and Analysis:
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, including financial planning and analysis, to support decision-making.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial processes and achieve business goals.
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the finance department to optimize performance and effectiveness.
Financial:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and managing cash flows.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance within the organization.
- Manage foreign exchange and government remitting.
- Support administrative and financial duties of the finance department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is required.
- Chartered Accountant qualification with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- 2+ years of industry experience.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, including Canadian GAAP/IFRS. US/Mexico accounting knowledge an asset.
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong ERP experience and advanced MS Office applications and Excel skills.
- Manufacturing Business experience an asset.
- Wholesale distribution experience an asset.
- Willingness to travel as required.
