Role Overview

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be a key player within the Finance Department, reporting to our Director of Finance and responsible for advancing the company's financial health and ensuring compliance with fiscal regulations. Your role will encompass a broad range of financial activities, from strategic analysis and reporting to optimizing processes and systems, all aimed at supporting the company's growth and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of financial reports, offering detailed analyses on performance, forecasts, and financial health.
  • Process Optimization: Drive the improvement and efficiency of financial processes and systems, enhancing the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the company's financial operations adhere to legal standards and internal policies, minimizing financial risks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to facilitate financial decision-making, supporting broader company objectives.
  • Strategic Financial Management: Contribute to the company's strategic financial planning, providing insights that influence long-term growth and sustainability.

Education and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a financial accounting or similar role, ideally within the technology or environmental sectors.
  • Proficiency in financial software such as Netsuite, Xero and ApprovalMax.
  • Demonstrated ability in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

  • Location: This is a Calgary-based position with a hybrid work option. Some travel may be required.
