Head of School Matthews Hall is seeking a new Head of School to serve as academic leader and chief executive officer, with the appointment to be effective July . Reporting to the Board of Governors, the Head of School leads and directs the implementation of the School's mission and guiding principles. They ensure that the School meets and exceeds its standards of academic excellence through developing and implementing appropriate action plans, building a high quality administrative and faculty team, and establishing positive relationships within the School and the broader community. The new Head of School will serve as the face of Matthews Hall School to the community at large, responsible for overall marketing, recruitment, enrolment and institutional advancement. There are a number of new opportunities for exciting future initiatives that will further enhance the School.

The successful candidate for this position will be an outstanding individual with excellent academic credentials and a proven track record of educational administration, ideally within an independent school environment. They should possess a perspective compatible with the School's mission and guiding principles, as well as the ability to communicate them effectively and lead the School towards their achievement. Team building and communication abilities, strong public relations and marketing skills, strategic thinking capabilities, a proven track record of recruitment and fundraising success, creativity in continuing an exceptional educational program, an understanding of the role of independent schools, and an excellent rapport with children, are all qualities desired in the Head.

Compensation is competitive and the School contributes to the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.
