Your Role:

We're looking for an experienced Proposal Manager to help our Business Development team win new business.

The Proposal Manager owns and manages all aspects of the proposal process—including requirements review, strategy, scheduling, information gathering, writing, and editing.


This is a great opportunity for an excellent writer, strategic thinker, and project manager with initiative, creativity, and good judgement.


Your Job:

  • Lead and manage responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other requests for information
  • Analyze customer requirements and work with sales to develop a strategy and win themes for each proposal
  • Produce compliant, persuasive, and accurate proposals to win large and strategic accounts
  • Write, edit, and proof technical and persuasive proposal content
  • Write and manage content for a proposal knowledge base
  • Champion proposal best practices
  • Review proposal processes and tools and implement improvements based on industry best practices
  • Help triage and track customer requests and support cases assigned to the Customer Trust team
  • Assist with additional marketing and sales support activities as required
  • Work some evenings and weekends if required to meet deadlines

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in English, Journalism, Communications, or other related discipline
  • Knowledge of proposal best practices (APMP Certification preferred)
  • 5 years of proposal development experience, including at least 2 years of experience as a proposal manager
  • Work experience in the tech industry is an asset
  • Independent worker who can manage multiple projects without supervision
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Comfortable with both technical and persuasive writing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into polished and concise writing appropriate to the intended audience
  • Ability to work with and influence all levels of staff—including executives and technical experts—without direct authority
  • Comfortable in a fastpaced environment with tight deadlines and competing priorities
  • Ability to independently research and understand unfamiliar technical concepts
  • Willingness to work irregular hours to meet deadlines
  • Close attention to detail, quality, and accuracy
  • Strong judgement and ability to analyze and handle complex situations
  • Even tempered and calm under pressure
  • Ability to develop and maintain a broad knowledge of Global Relay technology, services, operations, and business strategy
  • Flexibility to take on new assignments and responsibilities as needed
