Police Clerk:

Regular Full Time

The Police Administration Department requires a regular full-time Police Clerk to work at the RCMP Detachment.


You will provide information and assistance to the public, handle complaints and inquiries at the counter and by telephone; explain rules, regulations and procedures within prescribed limits; compile and process Police Information Checks, various permits, records and reports; process found property; operate CPIC, PRIME, and other programs and related equipment as required; process various clerical assignments; take non-criminal fingerprints, and perform related work as required.

You will also answer and relay incoming calls for the Detachment's main phone line and provide clerical support to several operational areas at the Detachment.


You have several years of clerical and word processing experience, and the ability to type at a net speed of 40 words per minute.

You have a keen eye for detail and accuracy, the ability to read, understand and convey information to internal and external contacts, and the ability to deal courteously, firmly and tactfully with the public.

Some related experience, preferably within a law enforcement environment, would be an asset.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.

Salary:

$26.34 to $30.94 per hour

(Pay Grade 1- January 2021 rates)

Hours of Work:

Any 7 consecutive hours between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., exclusive of an unpaid one hour meal break, any five (5) consecutive days of seven.

The City of North Vancouver currently works a compressed work schedule with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
