RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Supervisor is responsible for implementing and maintaining Human Resource programs related to compensation and benefits, recruitment, retention and employee relations matters.

The position is responsible for ensuring that the provision of Human Resources services are efficient, effective and reflect best practice standards.

The Supervisor works collaboratively as a member of the Human Resources team to provide high quality services to all staff.


As Human Resources Supervisor, responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and overseeing the work of a team of Human Resource Business Partners. Coordinating the staffing process through the monitoring and development of equitable recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Coordinating and advising on performance development and coaching, discipline and labour relations processes for unionized and nonunionized employees in accordance with the terms of the collective agreement and/or terms of reference of employment for nonunion and management staff.
  • Managing workplace grievances and acting as a lead in mediation and arbitration processes.
  • Providing human resource advice to Supervisors and Senior Managers regarding the management of employees and/or organizational changes.
  • Developing HR programs which support CASO's strategic pillars of Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Partnerships and Collaboration, and Excellence and Innovation.
  • Reviewing and making recommendations regarding various programs and services delivered through the Human Resource function.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • University degree in Business Administration or Human Resource related discipline, or equivalency with lived experience.
  • Certification as a Human Resources Leader (CHRL Designation);
  • 5 years' experience in various functional areas of Human Resources with direct Labour Relations experience
  • Excellent leadership, planning, organizational and communication skills are required;
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities working with culturally diverse and Indigenous communities;
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and creative problemsolving skills;

Salary:
$86,023 to $112,623, commensurate with skills and/or experience
