  • Specify and order supplies and equipment for the electronics programs.
  • Maintain tool and component inventories for the electronics programs.
  • Maintain and repair electronic equipment.
  • Maintain and organize the electronic laboratory facilities.
  • Distribute tools and supplies to students.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting in a computerized environment.
  • Testing administration for industry certification exams.
  • Maintaining license software, WHMIS and OHS procedures and record keeping.

Duties

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

  • 1. Diploma in Electronics Technician or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience using electrical/electronic schematics, datasheets and manuals.
  • Experience operating test equipment.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to use hand tools to repair minor mechanical faults and troubleshoot/repair electrical and electronic faults, computers, switches, routers, servers and networking systems.
  • Ability to assemble and test electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment.
