Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at WSP Canada. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the geotechnical laboratory, ensuring project success through collaboration with clients and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and lead the geotechnical laboratory operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of projects.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, promoting professional development and growth.
- Schedule lab technicians for testing programs, ensuring timely and accurate results.
- Review and report test results, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain knowledge of geotechnical testing procedures, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Manage projects from proposal to completion, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
- Develop new business opportunities, identifying and pursuing growth prospects for the company.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring effective communication.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Participate in recruitment and training activities, contributing to the development of a skilled and motivated team.
Requirements:
- Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in laboratory operations and management.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with excellent verbal and written skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in laboratory management software.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 kg, with a strong focus on safety and well-being.
- Previous consulting experience preferred, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
- Valid Canadian Driver's License, with a clean driving record.
