Our current decentralized structure has multiple challenges that need to be overcome. We have multiple sources of truth, no clear definitions, no centralized provider, and hundreds of dashboards that may or may not be useful anymore - we want to make these challenges a thing of the past. That's where you come in.
This role will be a tall task but will significantly impact the organization's bottom line. In this role, you will work on getting buy-in from the current team while building a structure that the key stakeholders also buy into. We need a builder that can roll with the punches and maintain focus on the long-term goal. You are someone who is technically strong (can communicate with our data team) but also have a good sense of the business. Essentially, you will translate the requirements from the business to the technical team to then deliver the data needs to your internal clients.
Your internal customers include: Category Management, Product Design, Marketing, eCommerce, Supply Chain Planning, and Finance.

About the Business Insights and Analytic team:
Currently, our 10 Business Analysts are decentralized across the organization, working as specialized BA's on their respective teams. They work directly with our centralized data team to query data from our data lake. You will be centralizing the BA into one team, and building this new function in our organization. There will be 3 Leads that report directly to you. Below the Leads, there will be 2-3 analysts each.
You'll be working with the following technologies:
- Data Platform: Databricks
- Data Modelling: dbt
- Data Visualization: Tableau
What You'll Do:
- Work with senior leadership to set well-defined high-level analytical targets that will maximize value creation for the company.
- Partner with key stakeholders across the business areas to understand functional priorities, current pain points, and future priorities to develop a road map that will unlock analytical competitiveness.
- You will develop and execute analytics roadmaps and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Forge and maintain a strong partnership with the Platform and Data Engineering function within our Technology department to efficiently set cross-functional priorities and ensure the smooth implementation of analytics solutions across Article.
- You will lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of analysts ensuring that all members of the team have clear expectations and growth plans.
- Relentlessly seek out the latest industry trends and advancements in analytics and business intelligence technologies.
- Develop into the go-to resource within the company for fact-based decision-making capable of answering even our most challenging questions.
- 7+ years of experience in analytics or a similar field.
- 3+ years in leadership.
- A proven track record in an eCommerce / retail environment is nice to have.
- Highly proficient in analytics tools and software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, R, Python) with a deep understanding of data infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability in excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- You are fearless to get in the weeds when needed.
- Strong fundamental understanding of analytics fundamentals including best practices on data infrastructure, experiment design, and expert-level knowledge of key tools including SQL, R, Python, Tableau.
- Resilience and the ability to influence others.
- The Unicorn candidate has significant experience performing analytics at a DTC/e-commerce business and is an e-commerce/retail nerd.
- Completion of Criminal Background check.

The expected salary is $140,000 to $190,000. The actual base pay can increase beyond this range and will be based on various factors, including transferable skills, training and certifications, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Hi there, we're Article.
