Working alongside the Event Service team - the Serving Lead will be responsible for executing and assisting the team with providing clients and guests with a high level of service and exceptional experience, with a focus on maintaining optimum food and beverage quality, excellent customer service, and safety standards during service.


The Ideal Applicant should:

  • Possess strong customer service skills
  • Have a great attitude
  • Feel at home in highvolume, fastpaced environments
  • Catering experience is an asset
  • Enjoy working in different environments (outdoors, indoors, homes, large venues)
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a desire to continue learning and growing
  • Be willing to work as a part of a team and follow instructions
  • Self starter
  • Previous serving experience
  • Management in the restaurant or catering industry is an asset

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run a team of servers and bartenders
  • Good time management skills
  • Read and understand the beverage menu offerings for the event
  • Possess leadership skills
  • Have a strong attention to detail
  • Be proactive in anticipating the needs of the client and their guests
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of items required to complete the event successfully
  • Balance and carry trays beverages and glassware
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with all team members across the organization
  • Maintain operational tools used by the beverage service team
  • Contribute to a clean, sanitary and professional work environment
  • Cleaning and garbage/compost/recycling removal as required
  • Approach all tasks in line with the White Table philosophy, aesthetic and standard of excellence
  • Complete any other duties necessary to ensure the success of the operation
  • Promote a positive work environment
  • Promote teamwork, cleanliness, and professionalism (Only have work appropriate conversations and behaviors)
  • Work well with outside vendors and represent White Table in a positive and cooperative manner

Requirements:

  • Valid Serving it Right certification
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on the business' and eventspecific needs
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Ability to bend, lift, and carry 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and be mobile for an excess of 8 hours
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Previous serving experience
for minimum 2 years

  • Previous management experience in food and beverage is an asset
