The immediate intent of this selection process is to staff 8 positions on an indeterminate basis: English Essential and Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB.

EDUCATION

ED1- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the positions or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES
EX1- Experience in the development or delivery of economic development programming* and/or grants and contribution programs;
EX2- Experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams;
EX3- Experience in developing and providing advice on complex** matters; and


EX4- Experience building relationships with various constituents and partners (federal, provincial, or municipal governments, Indigenous organizations, not-for-profit organizations or private sector).


  • Economic development programming includes, but is not limited to community development, entrepreneurship, business development, housing and infrastructure, etc.
**Complex is understood to mean those with some of the following characteristics: multidimensional, highly sensitive, affecting many partners or stakeholders external or /and internal, precedent-setting, having a major impact on service or program delivery.

KNOWLEDGE
K1- Knowledge of the economic development realities, challenges and opportunities in Northern Ontario.

ABILITY
A1- Ability to conduct research and analysis, prepare briefing materials in order to provide advice and support to management.

COMPETENCY
C1- Effective Written Communication.

ASSET
EXPERIENCES
AEX1- Experience in engaging with stakeholder groups that support the economic inclusion of equity-seeking groups (e.g., Indigenous Peoples, Black or Racialized Persons, Persons with Disabilities, 2SLGBTQIA+, Women) and/or rural and remote communities;
AEX2- Experience in implementing regional economic development; and
AEX3- Experience in using a client relationship management software.
