JOB OVERVIEW
Jake's House is looking for a safety focused Developmental Service Specialist for a two-month contract.

The Developmental Service Worker will work closely withyou will work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities to provide support and assistance in a construction setting.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in performing constructionrelated tasks if needed.
  • Evaluate individual strengths and weaknesses to determine appropriate task assignments.
  • Ensure that individuals are equipped with proper safety equipment and follow's safety procedure before engaging in construction activities.
  • Participate in regular safety training and be responsible for ensuring participants follow safety protocols.
  • Track worker progress and provide regular feedback to Jake's House
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants and community partners

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

  • Completion of a relevant program or equivalent experience in developmental services
  • Experience in construction and/or ability to learn construction basics
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and materials
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, who actively listens
  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively and is capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel advanced level, PowerPoint, etc.).
