Our client based in Edmonton is searching for a meticulous and seasoned Payroll Specialist to join their team on a contractual basis. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and efficient employee payroll processing while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. This role necessitates exceptional organizational skills, a commitment to precision, and a strong sense of confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll for employees.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings with precision.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, and provincial tax regulations.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain detailed records of payroll and employee data.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and industry best practices.
  • Fulfill any additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in payroll processing.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Skills: Proficiency in ADP and Microsoft Excel.
  • Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, along with outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Availability:
Immediate availability to commence work.
