Position Description:

***This position provides administrative support for the Environmental Services Department. Departmental activities are coordinated to ensure the smooth operation, in accordance with the policies and procedures of the hospital. The incumbent ensures that all operational functions are handled with efficiency, accuracy, professionalism and confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Postsecondary diploma/certificate in office administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1year experience providing support in a busy service environment.
  • Typing speed must be at an intermediate skill level (45 WPM).
  • Clerical testing may be required as part of the selection process.
  • Accurate data entry skills and familiarity with tracking systems i.e. HBO, Paradigm.
  • Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility, plan, prioritize and complete tasks with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both in person and by telephone.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Ability to perform well as a contributing member of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Arranges for staffing replacements and records staff absences as per established guidelines (collective agreements and department protocol), completing staff payroll sheets and overtime submission for the Manager's approval.
  • Coordinates details to ensure the effective scheduling and delivery of a variety of services as requested throughout hospital e.g. carpet cleaning, furniture/office moves, etc.
  • Ensures all supplies and forms required by the office are adequately stocked and reordered.
  • Assists with other departmental activities as delegated by the Manager.

HOURLY RATE
$ $ $29.23 (plus 14% in lieu of benefits)
