The Opportunity:


Reporting to the Manager, Ambulatory Surgical Care, and under the direct supervision of the Clinical Leader, Shared Clinics, the Unit Aide works within a team to provide a safe, clean environment for all patients and their families being served.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Primary role in ordering supplies for the area.
  • Cleaning and restocking exam rooms.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting equipment in accordance with approved guidelines.
  • Sending and receiving supplies from CSPD.
  • Assisting with patient transport as required.
  • Restocking clinic carts.
  • Do monthly workplace inspections.
  • Set up isolation rooms as required.
  • Place work orders for maintenance issues.
  • Assist with unit quality initiatives within the roles and responsibilities of a Unit Aide.
  • Transport defective equipment to Biomedical Engineering.
  • Placing orders through SAP.

Hours of Work:

Monday-Friday, hrs.

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous Unit Aide experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills required.
  • Commitment to Family Centred Care required.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work effectively.
  • Knowledge of IWK Health fire response regulations required.
  • Competency in other languages considered an asset.
