We are a women lead, boutique Procurement Consulting and B2B Marketplace provider. Virtually located in Durham Region we serve customers across Canada and the US.

We are seeking a professional, resourceful, team-oriented Finance & Accounting Coordinator to provide finance and accounting expertise supporting the growth of our consulting and new tech venture; ProcureHub, launching in May 2023.

Working alongside our CEO and small but mighty team, this role requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and deliver a high level of excellence.

The Finance & Accounting Coordinator will work with and report directly to the CEO and will provide expertise and support in the areas of:

  • Investor communications including supporting the development of investor pitch decks
  • Managing the financial model including; funding sources, cash flow, revenue, Cap table, financial statements, COGs, CAC, TAM etc.
  • Prepare financial business plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Manage overall accounting including account reconciliations, G/L management, accruals, A/R, A/P and related functions, expense management and reporting, ensure corporate tax filings and corporate tax installments are completed accurately and on time
  • Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (to include P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasts) and management reporting and analysis to support Executive decision making. Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Manage payroll including biweekly payments, submitting monthly payroll taxes, creating and filing ROE's, T4's, T5's etc.
  • Analyze key variances and monitor progress of action plans to improve results and strategically operate the business
  • Establish and implement financial controls
  • Prepare Monthly Dashboards, KPI reports, and related analysis

This position is a PART-TIME, hybrid role.

You will have the ability to work remotely but will be required to attend meetings in person, 1-2 days per week, depending upon company priorities.

With a focus on outcomes, the hours are flexible, allowing for tasks to be completed throughout the week.

To start, the hours will be approximately 5-15 hours a week, however we anticipate the potential for quickly evolving into a full-time position with greater future earning potential including benefits, bonuses and share options.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Must Have:

  • Financial Accounting designation.
  • University degree.
  • Competence and experience in the duties and responsibilities described above.
  • Min 3 years accounting experience in a related and progressive Finance/Accounting role.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of full cycle accounting, financial statements, budgeting/forecasting, yearend functions.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls.
  • Sound knowledge of Canadian tax with experience preparing and filing corporate tax returns.
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online. One or more additional systems (i.e. Xero, ZohoBooks, NetSuite, etc.) is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent judgement, problem solving skills.
  • Selfstarter, team player, organized, able to meet deadlines.
  • Possess initiative, integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy is important.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexible.
  • Professional, selfconfident and able to work independently.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive, cando attitude.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Must own a laptop and cell phone (BYOD).
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, excited by technology and tech startups

Nice To have:

  • Knowledge of twosided managed marketplaces or eCommerce an asset.
  • Knowledge of ERP Applications an asset ex: ZohoOne, NetSuite, Oracle or similar.
  • Procurement or Project Management experience an asset.
