Description

Role: As a Lifeguard of MNP Community & Sport Centre, The lifeguard is to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons and employees using our aquatic facilities through prevention, timely response, and providing Legendary Service.

Reports to: Aquatic Shift Leader, Aquatics Operations Coordinator and Aquatic Programs & Operations Manager

What You'll Do:
  • Use active guarding techniques; including roaming, scanning and blind spot checks.
  • Provide emergency care and stabilization of patrons required until arrival of Emergency Medical Services.
  • Present a professional appearance by wearing appropriate uniform, wearing your nametag and demonstrating a professional attitude at all times.
  • Attend and participate in quarterly in-services, ongoing training, and development opportunities.
  • Perform various maintenance duties to maintain a clean and safe facility, ensuring the pool deck looks appealing to our patrons at all times.
  • Presents professional attitude at all times, maintaining a high standard of Customer Engagement and Legendary Service.
  • Plan with and assist fellow Lifeguards with all pool set-ups and takedowns.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate activity reports and administration such as stat sheets and maintenance sheets.
  • Handle or refer programs and situations as they arise in the facility.
  • Maintain a level of fitness necessary to fulfill the National Lifeguard Standards set by the Lifesaving Society and perform rescues specifically within the facility requirements of MNP Community & Sport Centre.
  • Perform set up and take downs during Special Events.
  • Attend all scheduled staff training including quarterly in-services
  • Stay up to date on all communications via MNPCSC internal email.
  • Submit quarterly availability by requested due date set by Aquatic Programs and Operations Manager
  • Follow and practice all policies and procedures that govern a Lifeguard in the Aquatic Safety and Supervision plan.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.
