As one of the leading holistic service providers in our sector, Skills for Change offers more than 25 programs and services, and annually serves 16,000 people who are newcomers, immigrants, and equity-seeking groups in services around employment, integration, mental health, leadership, entrepreneurship, and more.


PROGRAM NATURE AND SCOPE:


The Supervisor
- Grants Administration will manage the lifecycle of the grants process including the day-to-day responsibilities, like tracking funding opportunities, coordinating with program teams, and supporting the program design process.

This role is a crucial part of Skills for Change's sustainability plan as it will be the go-to source for program
- and project-specific funding proposal information and coordination of activities. The role includes project management and coordination of activities that entail idea generation, building cost and staffing models, creating, and maintaining core foundational materials for proposal writing, and keeping an overarching view on program objectives and funding opportunities. The Supervisor
- Grants Administration may also take on key time-bound projects to support Skills for Change across work streams in collaboration with the Manager, Program Design and/or CEO or to support other Program Managers/Directors leading certain efforts.

  • Knowledge of the nonprofit funding environment its current challenges, opportunities, and trends in Ontario and across Canada.
  • Experience in written communication including editing and creating concise explanations of complex materials.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects, expanding programs, and enhancing the quality of existing programs.
  • Excellent coordination and project management skills to keep key projects on track and flag any diversions with right people within the organization
  • Experience in identifying and coordinating innovative program proposals, strategic alliances and relationships both in the private and public sectors through secondary Research.
  • Ability to work effectively with others at varying levels of an organization and to consistently display a high level of professionalism in all interactions including experience with maintaining confidentiality as needed
  • Indepth computer skills in Google and Microsoft Office Suite.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Manage the overall lifecycle of the grants process including supervising the daytoday activities of the Program Design department specifically the Master Grants Tracker and the pipeline of all upcoming Grants. This includes prioritizing upcoming opportunities and identifying which funding opportunity matches the right program for the right idea.
  • Provide support to department managers in supervising all staff, from scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work, to ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and organizational performance, continuous learning and the delivery of effective case management, employment, and development initiatives.
