Warehouse Logistics Supervisor - Montreal

Position Purpose

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the incumbent will be part of the Warehouse and Logistics operations, focusing on quality, operations improvements, KPIs and budget related tasks, working towards: Maintaining high standards according to Warehouse playbook to build operational excellence capabilities, while initiating and deploying improvements.

Compliance to JTI's Quality Management System by working with 3PLs on required conformity. Monitoring and reporting of Warehouse Excellence KPIs and develop & implement any required improvement action plans.

The creation of an annual budget and regular Month End & Outlook cycles, as well as track and report actuals and provide variance analysis, with proper improvement action plans.

Additionally, the position supports as needed in operational activities related to warehousing, transportation, and import/export of finished goods.

Responsibilities

  • Support warehousing, import/export and transportation processes as needed, such as: Timely communicate with customer (vendor, buyer, internal user) regarding delivery of Finished Goods. Organize transport where applicable (truck, vessel, airfreight, etc.) or coordinate with GBS/Global Logistics. Optimize/improve loading factor.
  • Organize, manage and coordinate all deliveries in order to provide timely, smoothly and effective transit time with support of planning team. Timely inform all interested parties about delivery status.
  • Create, collect and control documentation needed for delivery and customs process (via oneERP system).
  • Provide all needed documentation to forwarder and closely communicate with state authorities as needed: customs office, sanitary inspector, Phytosanitary inspector, trade inspector, etc.
  • Control and support customs process until goods are ready for delivery to customer.
  • Timely and accurately prepares, maintain and provide all evidence and reports for state authorities (Customs, Statistics, Ministry of Finance, Tax authorities).
  • Maintain oneERP setup related to deliveries in cooperation with other involved parties and monitor documentation preparation.
  • In collaboration with Finance department, coordinate & control payment activities in line with defined conditions.
  • Support in the creation of annual logistics budgets with regular ME and OL. On defined & recurring financial cycles, track and report actuals to the Logistics Manager and provide adequate analysis on variances with proper improvement action plans if needed.
  • Support and collaborate with a team of warehouse & logistics staff and/or 3PLs, providing guidance and performance feedback to ensure productivity and adherence to company policies.
  • Be the main point of contact regarding orchestration of compliance to JTI's Quality Management System by working with 3PLs on required conformity.
  • Close collaboration with other departments, such as, but not limited to, procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination and effective communication.
  • Drive the assessment and implementation of KPI's, best practices, technologies, and automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain high standards according to Warehouse playbook in all aspects, and actively participate in the Warehouse community by sharing and implementing best practices and supporting global initiatives / projects.
  • Understand health and safety aspects of their work and learn about potential hazards, know and maintain required control measures in order to keep their workplace healthy and safe.
