Introduction:

ICES is seeking a Procurement Analyst to join their finance department. Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Procurement Analyst is responsible for the sourcing and procurement processes for ICES as well as assisting with analysis and reconciliations within the Finance group

Responsibilities of the position include, but may not be limited to:

  • Administer sourcing and procurement processes for ICES in accordance with the Ontario Broader Public Sector requirements.
  • Administer and oversee the competitive process for routine and RFx procurement
  • Work with internal stakeholders to facilitate and ensure that best procurement practices are implemented and followed throughout the organization.
  • Work with the Director, Finance to identify, implement and present new sourcing/procurement strategies, processes and policies.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with all suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with other ICES Finance team members to reconcile invoices and any purchase order discrepancies.
  • Complete monthend entries and reporting.
  • Assist with budget preparation, tracking and variances analysis.
  • Assist with various analysis and reconciliations within the Finance group as required.
  • Assist the Finance team as back up
  • Work with Director, Finance to ensure that financial goals and requirements are met and understood throughout the organization.
  • Continually seek ways to improve business processes to ensure efficient operations.
  • Other duties as may be assigned within the scope of this position

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Post secondary education in Business or Supply Chain Management
  • Certificate from a recognized purchasing program
  • A minimum of 3 years of Procurement and/or Finance experience;
  • Knowledge of the practices, principles and procedures of procurement
  • Knowledge and experience complying with the Ontario Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive
  • Demonstrated solid negotiating skills
  • Experience leveraging Vendor of Record agreements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment;
  • Proficient in the use of M365 Excel, Access, Teams and Outlook;
  • Knowledge and/or experience utilizing ERP systems (SAP) is an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Security clearance may be required.
