Profile:

Coordinate and support the management financial reporting and analysis services for the March of Dimes Canada (MODC), and its subsidiaries including the investments, cash management, receivables and payables, financial reporting, fund source management and other related operating activities, as required.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the management and administration of financial reporting and analysis services for the March of Dimes Canada (MODC), and its subsidiaries including the financial operations, transactions, investments, cash management, receivables and payables, financial reporting, fund source management and other related operating activities, as required.
  • Coordinate the daytoday financial reporting within MODC and its subsidiaries, which includes the planning, design, development, implementation of the organization's financial processes and accounting services both automated and manual.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts, which includes the preparation of the financial plan guidelines, providing support to financial and operational staff in the input of financial plan data, developing the financial plan schedule, coordinating submissions from finance and operational staff, coordinating the input of the financial plan into the information systems, analysis of the financial plan information.
  • Prepare periodic preliminary financial statements and related account reconciliations for MODC and its subsidiaries.
  • Prepare regulatory compliance requirements such as the corporate information return, T3010 and Form 990 etc.
  • Support the banking and tax activity of the organization by ensuring that MODC can meet its cash requirements by coordinating investment decisions and recommending transfer of funds among accounts to meet commitments.
  • Maintain the fixed asset module, ensuring its integrity and its reporting compliance to the capital asset management policy.
  • Ensure that all GL reconciliations, audit schedules, and corporate compliance reporting, insurance and lease issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Provide both routine and ad hoc financial analyses required by management at all levels of the organization, including 5year analysis trends of information to support management decisionmaking.
