Worksite: Human Resources Department, Central Library, 350 W. Georgia St., Vancouver, BC. This is an onsite role.

The Vancouver Public Library is seeking a temporary full-time Human Resources Administrative Assistant for three-months with possibility of extension. The successful candidate must be able to work on-site at our Central Library in downtown Vancouver.

In this role, the Human Resources Administrative Assistant will support the Human Resources department by handling a variety of administrative tasks such as recruitment and selection support, induction training coordination, minute-taking, drafting and editing documents and spreadsheets, scheduling meetings, maintaining HRIS, providing HR reception services to staff and the public, answering general queries, and other related duties as required.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented candidate to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements:
Education:Completion of a diploma or certificate program from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant subject area, such as Human Resources or Business Administration.Experience:Two years of experience in an administrative assistant role.Experience in a Human Resources department in a unionized workplace would be an asset.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Effective written and verbal communication skillsExcellent customer service skills.Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail; independent problem solving skills.Proficiency in the use of Excel, Outlook and Word.Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.Affiliation: Exempt
Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time, three-months with possibility of extension
Salary: $28.91 per hour plus 6% vacation pay
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
