Position Summary


Reporting to the Program Manager for the International Network of Special Immunization Services (INSIS), the Research Administrative Assistant is an integral part of the team to provide support for financial administration and routine administrative support for INSIS.

The Research Administrative Assistant follows standard practice and established procedures to perform duties.

Duties

  • Maintain a documented system of finance filing and accounting records for INSIS activities
  • Assist with tracking INSIS revenues and expenditures, subsite contracts and payments, reconciling of accounts, and maintaining hard copy and electronic files
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly, semiannual and adhoc reports to funders
  • Coordinate INSIS meetings including scheduling, meeting invitations, liaising with guest presenters and meeting chairs
  • Provide consistent and accurate reporting to the INSIS Program Manager on an ongoing basis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree education in business/accounting or Diploma in Business Administration/Accounting and 2 years of experience
  • Minimum two years related work experience; 1+ years of relevant experience within a research setting in a university, hospital or comparable environment considered an asset
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and time management skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to work in a team environment with multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of University of Alberta policies and procedures (UAPPOL) preferred
  • Experience with research finances considered an asset
