**What You Will Do
Reporting to the accounting and payroll manager, the payroll analyst is responsible for the payroll cycle and ensures the smooth operations of payroll calculations, processing and production of employee pay in an accurate and timely manner, while maintaining compliance with established payroll practices, company policies, applicable laws and standards, regulatory requirements and internal control procedures.
- Perform, process and reconcile bi-monthly payroll for Canadian and American employees in compliance with tax rules and company policies and procedures.
- Perform more complex payroll calculations such as leave calculations, vacation payouts, and others.
- Perform year-end processes such as tax statements (W2, T4, RL1) and year-end filings and reporting.
- Respond to payroll related inquiries and resolve concerns.
- Liaise with HR to ensure completeness of payroll information and resolve issues.
- Assist with quarterly and year-end audit process with the external auditors.
- Process general ledger payroll accounts including the preparation of supporting schedules, journal entries and reconciliations for payroll and payroll-related accruals.
- Analyze data related to compensation, such as salary and bonus variations period over period and vs budget.
- Prepare relevant periodic reports for circulation to department heads.
- Balance and prepare payments to various payroll-related suppliers.
- Propose and participate in the improvement of payroll processes and systems.
- Monitor changes and developments in legislation related to employee compensation (Income Tax Act, Employment Insurance Act, Labour Standards Act, etc.) and keep team abreast of changes.
- Assist in new jurisdiction registrations.
- Participate in adhoc projects as required.
- Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential.

**Fonctions**
- Effectuer, traiter et réconcilier la paie bimensuelle des employés canadiens et américains en conformité avec les règles fiscales et les politiques et procédures de l'entreprise.
- Effectuer des calculs de paie plus complexes tels que les calculs de congés, les paiements de vacances, et autres.
- Effectuer les processus de fin d'année tels que les déclarations fiscales (W2, T4, RL1) et les dépôts et rapports de fin d'année.
- Répondre aux demandes de renseignements sur la paie et résoudre les problèmes.
- Assurer la liaison avec les RH pour garantir l'exhaustivité des informations relatives à la paie et résoudre les problèmes.
- Participer au processus d'audit trimestriel et de fin d'année avec les auditeurs externes.
- Traiter les comptes de paie du grand livre général, y compris la préparation des annexes, des écritures de journal et des rapprochements pour la paie et les charges à payer liées à la paie.
- Analyser les données relatives à la rémunération, telles que les variations des salaires et des primes d'une période à l'autre et par rapport au budget.
- Préparer des rapports périodiques pertinents à distribuer aux chefs de département.
- Balancer et préparer les paiements aux différents fournisseurs liés à la paie.
- Proposer et participer à l'amélioration des processus et systèmes de paie.
- Suivre les changements et les évolutions de la législation relative à la rémunération des employés (Loi sur l'impôt sur le revenu, Loi sur l'assurance-emploi, Loi sur les normes du travail, etc.) et tenir l'équipe au courant des changements.
- Aider à l'enregistrement de nouvelles juridictions.
- Participer à des projets ponctuels, selon les besoins.
- Promouvoir la confiance des employés en protégeant les opérations de paie et en assurant la confidentialité des informations.

**What You'll Need**
- 5-8 years of strong payroll experience
- Dynamic and ability to work as a team
- High degree of discretion and tact in handling confidential matters
- Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
- Previous experience working with a payroll system (preferably MassPay and NetHRIS and ADP)
- Payroll for over 100 employees experience highly desired
