Job Description

WHAT'S THE JOB?
Join our NRB Modular Solutions team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move construction forward.

As aSenior Architectural Designer, you will be responsible for the development, interpretation of engineering designs, drawings and specifications of design systems for modular building layouts to be used in manufacturing processes. The incumbent is accountable for producing detailed shop drawings, bill of material, technical reports and ensuring that design complies with applicable codes while confirming client design data and specifications.

Your work will include:

  • Develop and prepare Revit designs and project specifications.
  • Develop and create detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance and input on new proposals and contracts.
  • Prepare proposal specifications and presentation documents in accordance with client and/or project requirements.
  • Create and check design information with consideration for accuracy, completeness and adherence to client specifications, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, provincial and local regulations & NRB standards.
  • Collaborate with Structural, Mechanical and Electrical teams and consulting Engineering partners to complete designs and resolve challenges, ensuring of delivery within the schedule.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities and field personnel.
  • Work with purchasing and vendors to source, review and specify equipment.
  • Develop, maintenance and improve products and items library.
  • Ensure codes and standards and company procedures are followed.
  • Manage and lead (at a technical capacity) the design task on day-to-day.
  • Other duties and responsibilities maybe required.

  • University degree or Building Technology Diploma from an accredited institution, specializing in Architecture or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with wood-frame and/or steel-frame/panels building technology relating to commercial, industrial, residential and/or hospitality.
  • Ability to read, edit and create building specifications and detailed construction drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and Autodesk ACC software experience
  • Experience with modular/factory-built construction and BOM (Bill of Materials) is an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.).
  • Additionally, efficient use of AutoCAD and Bluebeam is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Structural, Mechanical or Electrical systems would be an asset.
