About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architectural Designer to join our team at Dexterra Group. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for the development and interpretation of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for modular building layouts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare Revit designs and project specifications.
  • Develop and create detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance and input on new proposals and contracts.
  • Prepare proposal specifications and presentation documents in accordance with client and/or project requirements.
  • Create and check design information with consideration for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client specifications, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, provincial, and local regulations & NRB standards.
  • Collaborate with Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical teams and consulting Engineering partners to complete designs and resolve challenges, ensuring delivery within the schedule.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities and field personnel.
  • Work with purchasing and vendors to source, review, and specify equipment.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve products and items library.
  • Ensure codes and standards and company procedures are followed.
  • Manage and lead (at a technical capacity) the design task on a day-to-day basis.

Qualifications

  • University degree or Building Technology Diploma from an accredited institution, specializing in Architecture or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with wood-frame and/or steel-frame/panels building technology relating to commercial, industrial, residential, and/or hospitality.
  • Ability to read, edit, and create building specifications and detailed construction drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and Autodesk ACC software experience.
  • Experience with modular/factory-built construction and BOM (Bill of Materials) is an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Additionally, efficient use of AutoCAD and Bluebeam is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical systems would be an asset.
