Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Lead and be responsible for projects of medium complexity/size, ensuring timely completion and meeting client expectations.
- BIM Technologies: Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to develop three-dimensional designs of buildings, collaborating with internal teams and external consultants.
- Code Compliance: Interpret and apply building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance and minimizing risks.
- Project Documentation: Prepare project documentation in all architectural phases, including plans, elevations, sections, and architectural details.
- Bidding and Negotiation: Lead bidding and negotiation phase tasks, ensuring successful project acquisition and contract administration.
- Contract Administration: Lead contract administration phase tasks, managing project coordination and meetings with internal teams, external consultants, owners, and stakeholders.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate and lead project coordination and meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Specifications: Prepare project specifications, following quality control procedures established by the practice.
- Requisite Knowledge: Possess knowledge of applicable building codes, building construction systems, materials, and industry-associated standards.
- Design Expertise: Demonstrate a detailed understanding of all phases of architectural design and document production, including space planning and coordination with building programs.
- Communication Skills: Possess the ability to communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Revit, and Newforma, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Education: Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the field.
- Professional Registration: Possess professional registration as an Architect in Canada, with previous experience in the Healthcare or Higher Education sectors.
The work is conducted in a studio/team environment in an office setting, working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
