Overview


Are you someone with strong leadership capabilities? Do you enjoy building relationships and working collaboratively in a team environment with both internal, external and global stakeholders? Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Data Coordinator will be responsible for completion of the process of receiving Underwriting and Claims data, quality assuring, transforming and loading into technical sub-ledgers.

This role requires good knowledge of accounting and data processing systems, combined with solid understanding of data intake, management and governance.


Your job

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate processing of bordereaux data for new business, renewals, endorsements and claims to ensure high quality and up to date records within the systems.
  • Proactively manage the data quality of assigned clients by looking for error patterns and, addressing issues with internal and external business partners. Take corrective actions and escalate any urgent issues where needed.
  • Suggest process changes to improve the quality of information by active participation in meetings collaborating with IT, Underwriting and Claims
  • Produce Key Performance Indicators for assigned clients and understanding the drivers of any changes particularly data quality measures.
  • Assist the finance department in any account reconciliations including contacting clients on any data and cash queries.
  • Effectively communicate with external clients regularly regarding account queries.
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis and support the team as requested
  • Prepare statistical information like Gross Written Premium, loss reports and regulatory reporting as needed.
  • Assist and/or participate in company's data governance initiatives, innovative business ideas, projects, and knowledge workshops.
  • Transfer knowledge with team members to further develop various processes.
  • Proactive in finding and implementing process efficiencies for the entire team.

Your profile

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelors' Degree with an interest in acquiring Accounting or Underwriting designation preferred
  • 2 years work experience in similar sized team
  • Good track record of meeting deadlines
  • Proficient in Excel (Vlookups, Pivots and ideally Macros)

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Working knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI preferred
  • Insurance industry experience would be an asset
  • Aptitude for figures and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Effectively work in a team environment and on an individual basis.
  • Excel advanced as a minimum
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
