Reporting to the Director of Recruiting, the
Talent Acquisition Manager for Canada is responsible for designing and implementing talent acquisition initiatives to support the growth of the company.

In addition, the Manager provides strategic recruiting expertise by staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, legal developments, technological advancements and benchmark comparisons.

This position will have oversight and manage talent acquisition for all lines of business in Canada and will be accounting for developing Talent Acquisition team members.

This individual will be instrumental in working to establish best in class practices around recruiting strategies, process improvements and policies to support the business.

Must be highly adept in high-volume recruiting, professional recruiting, and all regulations for government contractors and have experience recruiting in many provinces across Canada.

  • Collaborate closely with business unit leader and HR teams in delivering specific recruiting campaigns and report on progress on a regular basis;
  • Accountable for the results of all staffing objectives within the company by reducing time to fill and cost per hire and increasing quality of hire;
  • Develop sourcing and recruiting goals and strategies for the team and hold all members of the leadership team accountable for their respective roles in recruiting and selection;
  • Handle external advertising, applicant tracking, new employee orientation, employee referral programs, and management training on effective hiring;
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of recruiting issues and trends, labor laws and legislative initiatives that have short
- and long
- term implications on the profitability of the business;

  • Coach, develop, mentor and oversee the recruiting team, including regional, and specialized talent acquisition specialists;
  • Select, appoint, and manage third party vendors; manage supplier relationships; and ensure vendor performance metrics are appropriate and monitored;
  • Ensures recruiting and staffing programs meet business needs at the national level and are in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as well as competitive best practices;
  • Actively recruit open requisitions as required.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Leadership role, preferable within a large organization required;
  • 5+ years of recruitment experience in a high volume, complex business environment,
  • A degree or diploma, preferably with a major in Human Resources Management or Marketing preferred;
  • Experience in an Industrial, Environmental or Energy industry preferred;
  • Proficient computer skills including webbased programs, MS Excel and database management;
  • Concise verbal and written communication skills required;
