This competition will be used to fill current and future vacancies for temporary and permanent Talent Acquisition Consultant positions and/or fill future vacancies, across the Government of Alberta, at the same or lower classification level.

As a Talent Acquisition Consultant, you will be responsible for full cycle recruitment in a high-volume, fast paced environment which includes:

  • Providing recommendations on recruitment/sourcing strategies.
  • Preparing exciting and inclusive job ads, reviewing and screening resumes, facilitating interviews, conducting reference checks, and extending offers of employment.
  • Coaching and supporting hiring managers through the recruitment process.
  • Opportunities to work on projects not only within Talent Acquisition, but across the entire Ministry.


Key to your success, is to understand the clients' business needs and constantly strive to find the best solution to their staffing needs.

This requires strong verbal and written communication skills, proven analytical and problem solving abilities, as well as the ability to evaluate interrelated concepts to deliver sound business advice.

Qualifications:

A two-year diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related area plus one year of related experience; or equivalent as stated below:

Equivalencies will be accepted on the basis of a university degree or a related one-year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and two years of related experience.

Directly related education or experience will be considered on the basis of one year of education for one year of experience; or one year of experience for one year of education.

Experience with recruitment.
Experience in a customer service environment - client service is key
Experience working in a fast paced environment.
Experience working in a consultative manner.
