Manager of Superintendent Training - Markham


Are you an individual who has a passion for teaching and would like to be the lead for our superintendent training program? As part of a centralized training model, we are recruiting for a Manager of Superintendent Training.

This position is accountable for ensuring the training needs for our building employees are delivered in a consistent and informative manner during the employee lifecycle.

This role also has oversight of the Health & Safety training for the building employees as well as building operations administration.

This is a great opportunity to hone your skills in a large multi-residential portfolio, under the direction of the Divisional Manager, Residential.

Responsibilities:
_**Training: Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents

  • Provide training from the first day of hire and while a Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent is in their role, including:
  • Orientation for newly hired building employees
  • Basic skills training for building maintenance such as basic plumbing, electrical safety, policies and emergency procedures, and daily building office administration
  • Health and safety training, procedures and requirements
  • Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) rules and procedures
  • Park's customer service expectations, including tenant and contractor relations
  • Internal software programs (Suite Spot and Building Stack)
  • Review training programs, identify needs or gaps and design/enhance programs as required
  • Facilitate, as needed, refresher courses and or skills upgrade
  • Coordinate, as needed, external training such as first aid

Health and Safety:
Residential Buildings

  • Perform detailed building inspections monthly, complete proper documentation and communicates as required to ensure issue resolution
  • Participate as an active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee
  • Monitor occurrence/incidence reports and follow up as required
  • Attend training sessions and seminars to maintain industry knowledge as required

Residential Building Administration:

  • Rent Safe Toronto / Mississauga and Certified Rental Building (CRB) programs
  • Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) portal updates
  • Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) follow up
  • Monitor and administer City Orders, ESA orders, TSSA Orders
  • Adhoc assignments as required

What you bring to the role:_**- Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience in building maintenance, preferably residential

  • Experience in facilitation, skills training, curriculum development
  • Knowledge of basic building codes, regulations and relevant legislation, including RTA, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High degree of professionalism, tact and diplomacy
  • Problem solving skills
  • Good judgement
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • A reliable vehicle and a valid Class G driver's license in good standing
