Markham, Ontario, Canada Kiewit Full time

Position Summary

In the role of Mechanical Project Superintendent, you will be pivotal to the operational success of Kiewit. Acting as a site supervisor, you may oversee multiple foremen or laborers. Your duties will encompass organizing and implementing work methodologies, planning, cost management, adherence to project specifications, executing tasks, and delegating responsibilities essential for project completion, either directly or through the general foreman or foremen. You will also focus on fostering positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and site personnel.

We are driven by ambition and provide you with the chance to engage in our construction initiatives. Whether it involves tunneling through mountains, harnessing river energy, or constructing bridges that unite communities, we depend on a team of dedicated, skilled professionals committed to safety. Bring your innovative ideas, dedication to exceptional quality, and steadfast work ethic. In return, we offer opportunities for travel and personal growth by participating in large-scale projects from inception to completion.

Kiewit consistently remains at the forefront, continuously seeking improvement opportunities while upholding the company's success factors.

  • Minimum of 8 years of construction experience, with at least 3 years as a mechanical superintendent or in a management capacity (preferably in infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, wastewater treatment facilities, etc.)
  • Self-sufficient, highly motivated, and capable of working with minimal oversight
  • Quickly learn and comprehend various processes related to Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software
  • Identify and resolve emerging issues effectively
  • Exceptional organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong background in leadership, safety, negotiation, planning, and contract management
