Strategic Group has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Asset Manager

Strategic Group owns and develops office, retail and apartment properties across Canada with a strategy to own for the long term by focusing on sustainability and recurring revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly ownership reports with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyze monthly performance/financials and variance reports and provide recommendations to ensure key benchmarks are achieved.
  • Review leases and ensure accurate information is received and maintained.
  • Develop strong professional relations with 3rd party managers by attending weekly meetings with property managers and maintain OneNote trackers.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on property operations, capital planning and major repairs by conducting regular property inspections.
  • Assist and support in the annual preparation and approval process of property operating budgets.
  • Assist with capital program scopes, timelines, budgets and financial tracking, along with ROI analysis.
  • Prepare market studies, reforecasts and adhoc financial analysis as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the acquisition/disposition team during due diligence and onboarding phase.
  • Establish and foster relationships throughout the organization to ensure flow of information is maintained.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum 3+ years of Property Manager/Administrator and/or Asset Management background and looking to expand their knowledge and experience.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, OneNote and Outlook.
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work with financial concepts and perform financial analysis.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in fast paced environment.
  • Problem solving and research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Familiarity with real estate software such as Yardi, Argus etc., considered an asset.
