The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centres.

The faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Undergraduate degree in any health or information science-related field (e.g., health sciences, health information, communication)
  • Graduate degree in a health discipline (e.g.
Health information, implementation science, health care professions) Previous experience in health information production, accessibility/health literacy issues and design, accessibility, and useability analyses is preferred

  • Experience:
  • 2 years experience providing coordination and support to health-related projects
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and pilot test health information interventions or products
  • Training in design thinking or equivalent is preferred
  • Enduser/consumer engagement experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in more than one method for delivery of content (e.g., animation, web design, apps, gaming, telemedicine, digital health) is preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to convert clinical content into clear, scripts/prototypes for educational interventions with appropriate procedural/implementation documentation
  • Detailed oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete detailed analytics and reports
  • Familiarity with techniques for planning, managing and coordinating projects, with competing priorities that involve a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to ensure expenditures, times and resources are within allotments, and to make related communications with the team
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet common objectives, improve outcomes
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to adapt and change to new and emerging methods
  • Ability to multitask and support a positive work environment
  • Professional behaviours/judgment and awareness of confidential/sensitive matters
  • Able to implement clinical content into animation, video, smartphone, apps, or webbased platforms to create digital health resources and interventions
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and previous experience using Cascade, video editing/animation software, Adobe preferred
