We are looking for an Electronics Prototype Developer to support our Quantum and Nanotechnologies Research Centre (QN). The Electronics Prototype Developer would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting research teams, developing prototype demonstrators centered around new technologies and devices, as well as providing project input related to the electronics domain. They will also assist in the design of experiments and the assembly of instrumentation and assist with performing measurements.

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

A post-secondary education in electrical engineering, electronics, physics, electro-mechanical or electro-optical systems, or other discipline related to the position.

An advanced degree in a field related to the position will be considered an asset.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may also be considered.

Experience
  1. Significant experience in the development of analog and/or digital circuits and systems.
  2. Significant experience with circuit simulation.
  3. Significant experience in R&D activities such as experimental design, data production and analysis.

**Significant experience is defined as a minimum of two (2) years of experience.

Technical Competencies
  1. Solid knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, simulation, and troubleshooting.
  2. Solid knowledge of microprocessor programming and interfacing.
  3. Ability to multi-task, manage time and prioritize activities.

    Assets
  4. Knowledge of integrated devices and circuits would be an asset.
  5. Knowledge of energy harvesting and IoT systems would be an asset.
  6. Knowledge of printed electronics or device microfabrication would be an asset.
  7. Knowledge of laser control systems and photonic devices would be an asset.
  8. Knowledge of computer interfacing and data acquisition software (e.g. LabVIEW) would be an asset.

Compensation

From $73,744 to $94,839 per annum.
