***: As a member of the Electrical Engineering department, the Technical Lead is primarily accountable for overseeing a team of designers who develop, test, and document new engineering solutions, especially solutions related to vehicle electrical systems and programming.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provide guidance to a team of electrical designers in developing and executing designs, test plans, documentation, and support, ensuring compliance to customer, vendor, and regulatory specifications, manufacturing abilities, and relevant engineering standards.
  • Check and approve engineering drawings, programs, instructions to service, shop floor instructions and other documents as needed.
  • Manage designer' hour allocations on a weekly basis, providing timeline projections for project completion.
  • Provide technical support to the production line, Technical Services Specialists, Charger and Electric Bus group, and other departments as required.
  • Lead Hoshin Kanri and other projects as assigned.
  • Provide regular status updates as required.
  • Conduct Bid Specification reviews.
  • Attend customer meetings where needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • College graduate in Electrical Engineering, Engineer in Training or Technologist.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Design related knowledge and experience related to essential functions is preferred.
  • PLC programming is an asset.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD system is required.
  • Good communication skills, teamwork, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Can motivate team as well as coach and train new employees.
  • Adept at using Computer within windows based operating environment.
  • Up to 15% travel maybe required.
