The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting of operations. This position involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports and involvement in a new ERP implementation.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements, identifying trends, variances and areas for improvement.
Assist with the development of financial reporting using Business Analytics tools.
Prepare and present financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.
Participate in the management and reporting of fixed assets.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial data.
Completion of preliminary and year-end audit working papers.
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, which requires regular analysis of variances and the ability to forecast future requirements.
Assist in the reconciliation of the annual inventory count.Software Proficiency:
Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to perform daily tasks efficiently.
Stay updated on technological advancements in accounting and financial software.
Perform daily general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis.
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business/Finance, professional accounting designation (CPA) or in pursuit of, would be considered an asset.
Advanced MS Office applications with proficiency in ERP systems environment.Previous experience with an ERP implementation.
Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures and provide guidance.
Heavy duty parts knowledge or background an asset.
Must be willing to work 100% on-site.
