Environmental Project Manager

Our team is expanding, and we are looking for an Environmental Project Manager with 10-15 years of contaminated sites expertise to join us in solving complex challenges for our clients in Northern Canada.

You will be part of the Remediation Program Management (RPM) team, responsible for environmental assessments and remediation of oil and gas sites in the Northwest Territories and Yukon, while also guiding junior staff members.

A typical day:

  • Collaborate with Project Coordinators, other Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads, and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers
  • Develop Health and Safety plans and Emergency response plans
  • Produce proposals, cost estimates, and schedule field crews and subcontractors
  • Manage project finances and reporting obligations under WSP's Service Agreements
  • Train junior staff in environmental practices and oversee remediation activities
  • Engage with clients to ensure project progress and address needs
  • Support fellow team members in various project responsibilities
  • Participate in site visits during field programs

Requirements:

  • University degree or diploma in engineering, or natural/earth sciences
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in contaminated site assessments and conceptual site models of Upstream oil and gas sites
  • Experience in northern regions is preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of workplace health and safety protocols
  • Professional certification with eligibility in NWT and Yukon is a plus
