Clerk II - Organized Crime Branch Administrator

The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to Organized Crime Branch and all its members; provide investigative support to all investigative teams; administration and tracking of Organized Crime Branch office and equipment; and administration and tracking of Organized Crime Branch vehicle fleet

Responsibilities will include:

  • Issue notebooks to members. Pick up / deliver mail daily,
  • Perform all CARM related requests: schedule changes, vacation requests, subpoenas, etc.
  • Collect and prepare quarterly stats for Drug Expert Investigative Team (DEIT), Edmonton Drug & Gang Enforcement (EDGE) Investigative Teams, Gang Suppression Team (GST), and Firearms Investigative Unit (FIU).
  • Receive, track, and coordinate the assignment of all Drug Expert requests from Public Prosecutions Services of Canada (PPSC). Once the Drug Expert Opinion is complete, it will then be returned to PPSC for disclosure.
  • Submit / assist with all Organized Crime Branch disclosure.
  • Submit all Civil Forfeiture disclosure.
  • Take minutes at any Branch meeting when requested.
  • Make any travel / course arrangements when requested.
  • Make the necessary arrangements for all new members/seconded members to Organized Crime Branch, i.e., cardkey access to office, access to computer drives and scan drives on photocopiers.
  • Liaise and coordinate office moves/changes with IT/ Movers.
  • Arrange and book meeting rooms as requested.
  • Check blue envelope from PPSC daily.
  • Monitor and notify on diary dates / expiry of all MOUs between EPS and external stakeholders.
  • Track and notify the expiry of Sealing Orders.
  • Coordinate incoming Crime Stoppers tips received in Organized Crime Branch.
  • Receive and disseminate all information received from Communications
  • Conduct transcription when required.
  • Maintain Exhibit Room inventory.
  • Download TruNarc data (at least twice a year).
  • Maintain and track fleet: Schedule all maintenance and cascading of vehicles out of Organized Crime Branch.
  • Receive, administer, and track all

Photo Violations:
Populate all initial pertinent information on the form including who was driving the vehicle.

  • Administer all parking violations received as per the above violation policy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask. Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible diversified word and/or information processing experience.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe, and all Microsoft Office suite products, particularly Excel.
  • Membership in an Administrative Professional Association (IAAP) or postsecondary certificate for Administrative Professionals would be an asset.
  • Proficiency with CARM would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience creating disclosure packages.
  • Experience with transcription.
  • Experience working within a policing environment would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of court processes would be an asset.
  • Experience in a public customer serviceoriented environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and diplomatically, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

  • As part of your prehire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.
