Job Purpose:
To support clinic operations, patients and physicians in delivering patient care.

At CHANGEpain Clinic, our interdisciplinary team, led by pain physicians, has developed innovative pain treatments that improve function by addressing the myofascial, nerve and cognitive disturbances of persistent pain not addressed by traditional rehabilitation approaches.

The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) position is a unique and dynamic role with solid functions supporting reception administrative tasks.

Reception Duties:

  • Coordinates patient care through the clinic creating the patient chart, first contact, scheduling appointments, checking in, assisting patients complete surveys, escorting them to exam rooms, and seeing patients out.
  • Answers enquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner.
  • Performs clinic opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintains appointment schedule and manages recalls.
  • Ensures doctors' schedules are fully booked, including calling in patients on the cancellation list when necessary.
  • Maintains electronic medical records, including the patient chart.
  • Ensures patient confidentiality.
  • Under the direction of the front desk manager, performs billing procedures for multiple payers (MSP, ICBC, WCB, etc) and applies and collects noninsured fees where applicable.
  • Receives office and medical supplies and monitor inventory under the direction of the clinic or front desk manager.
  • Keeps clinic facility clean and tidy.
  • Performs all other CPCrelated clinical, administrative tasks or particular tasks as required.
  • Keeps physician appointments on time.
  • Ensures patient confidentiality.

General Skills and Abilities:

  • Compassionate

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert level with a computer, including using the internet and MS Office software. Preferred experience with an electronic medical record (InputHealth in particular)
  • Excellent keyboarding skills (including speed and accuracy).
  • Strong observation and listening skills.
  • Ability to focus on detail.
  • Can solve problems.
  • Has good judgment, tact and diplomacy.
  • Adaptable, organized, and able to work under pressure.
  • Clinical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Able to describe clinic procedures and related risks (to be taught on the job).
  • Able to explain research projects to patients.

Job Type:

Permanent Full Time + Extended Health Benefits + 2 Weeks of Paid Time Off + Perks

Salary:

$18.00-$20.00 per hour
