How will I make an impact?


As the Demand Generation Manager reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will use your experience to make recommendations for future lead generation initiatives and to optimize currently executing campaigns.

You will study our customers and ideal customers within your targeted segments and identify their unique needs, terminology, and use cases to support your lead generation strategy.

You will also set the foundation for demand generation at Shinydocs, bring solutions and recommendations for how to improve the function, and guide other demand generation specialists as they are hired.

You may be asked to assist with the hiring process.


In your first 30 days you will work closely with product marketing, marketing services, Sales, and BDR teams to understand the customer buyer journey, our sales cycle, and gather learnings and insights from recent lead generation campaigns.

You will collaborate with your marketing colleagues to implement the processes required to execute your recommended demand generation initiatives. Based on your experience, you will also recommend new tools and new channels to market.

Day in the Life:

Build and Own a Targeted Marketing Strategy - Manage the complete marketing strategy for assigned segments within Shinydocs' target markets. You will be a player-coach and share your best practices and experiences to guide the work of demand generation specialists.

Collaborate Across Go-To-Market Teams - Work closely with Sales, BDR, and Marketing to conceive, design, and execute marketing campaigns and programs that create awareness and drive leads in your target segments. You will document processes and work to establish productive working relationships with other GTM leaders.

Identify Marketing Channels - Identify marketing channels, associations, events, thought leaders, and influencers that align with your target segments and work with them and through them to deliver targeted programs, sponsorships, co-hosted events, and other initiatives that drive targeted leads.

Bring Creative Ideas - Find new and interesting ways to reach your target market and generate interest in Shinydocs. Recommend content, messaging, and channels that will get attention and work with your marketing colleagues to create the materials and execute the campaigns that you recommend in your marketing strategy.

Measure. Iterate. Improve. - Alongside Marketing Services, implement a system to monitor all campaigns and create a feedback loop with BDR and Sales to iterate and improve in-market execution. Document learnings and best practices to improve process and results for future initiatives. Know your metrics and how they are performing against your plan to make live adjustments.

Know Your (Ideal) Customer - Research your target segments. Know their terminology and jargon in order to communicate with credibility. Understand their needs to inform compelling copywriting. Have answers to their objections to guide content creation and sales enablement.

Bring Insights Back Into the Business - Work with PMM and PM to feed market insights from the demand generation team and contribute the voice of our target customers to product positioning, packaging, use cases, and identify sales collateral and tool needs.

You Have:

  • 57 years of experience in a demand generation role for a B2B technology company with an enterprise sales model, with some of those years being in a management or leadership position
  • Previous experience dealing with a range of demand generation tools, marketing measurement tools, lead tracking, and marketing attribution
  • Experience working with Financial Services, Energy, Manufacturing, Government, or Fortune 500 industry segments
