What responsibilities will you have in this role?

  • Acts as first contact for the Centre Construction and Engineering Technology (CCET), including current students, former students, alumni, and general inquiries.
  • Assesses the qualifications and interests of prospective and current students and with the assistance of program coordinators, advises them on appropriate programs or delivery options and admissions procedures.
  • Assists in resolving student timetabling conflicts; Liaises and provides students with appropriate referrals to/with internal departments.
  • Updates, maintains, and disseminates Academic Curriculum Planner (pathway) and CAPP (Curriculum, Advising and Program Planning) reports and information to various stakeholders.
  • Assists with preparation and dissemination of Academic Curriculum Planner (pathway) and CAPP (Curriculum, Advising and Program Planning) reports and information to various stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and facilitates grade entry, promotions and other academic meetings with staff and staff use tools appropriately (Stu-View, Millennium etc.).
  • Uses established systems to monitor and report on data in support of the CCET (i.e., StuView/Banner) to generate detailed information and reports regarding student issues.
  • Coordinates, creates, maintains and verifies accuracy of systems such as files, and databases for graduating students, staff, committees, and external client lists.
  • Formats and inputs necessary information to prepare letters, memos, reports, spreadsheets, presentations and other written materials to students, staff and management.
  • Liaises with employers, industry associations, corporate partners and other organizations on the development of graduate employment and Program Advisory Committees (PAC).
  • Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications do you need for this role?

  • Three year Diploma or degree from a recognized postsecondary institution in Business Administration, Office Administration, Database Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years' experience gained as a team player in an office environment using a variety of computer software packages such as Microsoft Office and Student Information System databases (SIS).
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish priorities and make decisions within prescribed boundaries.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills to liaise with people at all levels from executives in technology companies to entrylevel students.
  • Ability to manage numerous complex and demanding tasks and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Adaptability to working in a technical environment in which technical terminology is frequently used.
  • Discretion, sound judgement and a commitment to preserving strict confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated commitment in delivering excellent service to others as this is key in supporting the success of our students and our College.
  • Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles.
  • Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decisionmaking processes.

Hours of Work: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
