JOB DESCRIPTION
Hillel Lodge is looking for a full-time, permanent
Inventory, Stores and Distribution Assistant.
Reporting to the Director of Facilities Services, this role is responsible for the following duties:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process incoming and outgoing shipments of goods and materials, verifying items against shipping documents (packing slips, bills of lading, purchase orders, delivery slips).
  • Process and prepare courier deliveries and receipts.
  • Receive shipments, including verifying goods received against packing slip; note discrepancies and errors.
  • Load, sort, pick, pack and distribute items throughout the home (food, supplies, laundry, linens, supplements, etc.).
  • Maintain clean, organized, and orderly storeroom(s).
  • Monitor minimum quantities of stores (supplies); notify Purchasing as supplies reach reorder level.
  • Perform counts of inventory and record counts using paper and electronic means.
  • Deliver clean laundry to residents' rooms.
  • Collect soiled laundry and linens and transfer to laundry room.
  • Complete periodic routine room audits (furniture, fixture, supplies and equipment), noting items for repair, replenishment and/or replacement.
  • Perform general maintenance (odd jobs) within and around the home's property.
  • Assist with resident admissions and moves.
  • Provide backup for Building Systems Worker, performing building cleaning and maintenance as directed.
  • Other positionrelated tasks and/or requests as required to ensure the safety and welfare of all persons living and working within the Home.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 (High School Diploma)
  • Oneyear recent, related experience (inventory, stocking, replenishment, warehouse, distribution, stores).
  • Able to lift 360 pounds and be on your feet (walking, standing) on a regular basis.
  • Speaks, reads, and writes in English to the level required to fulfil duties, including collaborating with others.
  • Proactive problemsolving skills, organization, and initiative
  • Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Follow directions.
  • Ability to operate job related equipment (pallet jack, hand carts, etc.)
  • Patience and compassion in working with and around elderly and/or vulnerable populations.
