Coordinator, Employee Supports (Ubuntu)

  • Reports To: Employee Supports Manager
  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 37.5 per week (Hybrid)
  • Wage: Starting at 23.82/hour

The Employee Supports Coordinator will lead the organization in recruitment and onboarding working primarily out of our Ubuntu location.

They will support the Human Resources department in all things administration and ensure accreditation standards are met in within their portfolio following up with new hires to ensure they are able to start and be in complete compliance with BSCS standards.

This position supports our Youth, Health Services and Administrative departments.

Position Responsibilities

  • Review and post all available positions, following the current recruitment process.
  • Assist managers in prescreening and reference checks as needed, this often will include scheduling interviews.
  • Lead the onboarding process, being the introduction to all new staff for Boyle Street Community Services. Offer a service based experience to collect all necessary documents.
  • Create offer letters, that are unique to each program and hire. Pay close attention to ensure accurate information is sent to hires.
  • Start entry of new hire into the HRIS system, pass information along to payroll to ensure nothing is missed.
  • Act as an onsite resource for our Ubuntu staff, escalating matters to other team members when needed.
  • Support staff during offboarding following the organization wide process.
  • Work with HR team in a variety of administrative functions, including training coordination, document collecting, and support during others time away.
  • Take part in organizational events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine pick etc.

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in administration
  • Ability to approach all staff and community with a customer service mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Police Check with the Vulnerable Sector and Child and Youth Intervention Check completed within the past six months
  • Valid First Aid certificate or enrolled in a future course
