As a member of a dynamic and dedicated benefits team, the Manager, Employee Benefits will provide benefit expertise to stakeholders by leading, advising, coordinating, and providing direction on a variety of multifaceted employee benefit issues and projects.

Using your keen ability to develop and maintain high-performing teams, you will manage all aspects of the team and individual performance from coaching to recruitment.

Collaborating with key stakeholders, you will provide leadership for benefits administration, governance and plan design.

You will develop targeted solutions and needs-based programming in collaboration with Human Resource teams, unions, consultants, service providers and insurers.

Your expertise will contribute to the interpretation of benefits articles in the collective agreements, as well as during grievance and negotiation processes.

You will develop a strong relationship with the pay and benefits shared-service provider; together ensuring that plans are administered in accordance with legislation and plan documents.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary education from an accredited college or University in Human Resources or related discipline.

Minimum 10 years progressive experience in HR, benefits and pension administration, including 3 to 5 years in a unionized environment, and experience supervising a team of staff.

A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Effective verbal and written communicator with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing responsive, quality services. Proven ability to foster partnerships/build solid relationships to achieve organizational goals within a diverse organization. Strong analytical, problem solving, and resolution skills. Ability to build and sustain trust and credibility with diverse stakeholders.

A strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) considered an asset.
