The Role

Execute payroll on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness aligned with set deadlines.

Maintain and update employee files as necessary within the payroll (ADP WFN) and accounting platforms (Dynamics 365).

Handle hours input in our timesheet system (Alphahire).

Manage Payroll Inbox and Ticketing System by addressing and resolving any payment discrepancies or queries from employees/vendors.

Reconcile payments between the accounting system and bank deposits.

Provide support to Onboarding / Engagement teams on an as-needed basis.

Cover for other Team members during their absences.

Assist in Quarterly and Year-End Balancing

  • conduct employee benefit training and devise benefit communications to enhance employee engagement with benefits.
  • oversee annual benefit audits and open enrollment.
  • stay updated on emerging benefits trends, proposing changes or additional offerings to management for consideration.

Who You Are

Thorough understanding of Canadian Payroll principles and best practices concerning labor regulations and compliance is a must.

Experience with year-end payroll functions and reconciliation for T4s / RL1s is essential.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a payroll or general accounting role is necessary.

Familiarity and competent use of Excel (VLOOKUP's, pivot tables, etc.) is essential.

Strong analytical and organizational skills are vital.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are indispensable.

Effective time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines are crucial.

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.

It is advantageous if you are pursuing a professional Payroll designation (PCP, CPM, PM).

Having experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.

Being bilingual (En/Fr) and having either native or business-level proficiency in French is a bonus.
