Job Responsibilities

(Internal Role: Project Management IV)

  • Supports the Corridor Lead in leading a major multi-disciplinary team of engineering managers, project manager/s, and deputy project manager/s, including other specialists as the rise occurs.
  • Safety leader across all project delivery works.
  • A proactive approach to engaging with the various Project Delivery Teams (PDT's) Must understand key performance indicator monitoring and engagement, directly linked to monthly measurement criteria established.
  • Must understand resource management, interface, and constraints management.
  • Able to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
  • Must be capable of supporting the Project Controls Centre and team to maintain up-to-date metrics on performance across the entire program.
  • Recommends and initiates change to project delivery plans, and identifies areas of improvement to put forward to relevant areas in business and operating processes.
  • Interacts with clients and other stakeholders to ensure that objectives are being met.
  • Manages external relationships important for project delivery (e.g., statutory authorities).
  • Builds and maintains networks with peer project teams and other disciplines.
  • Supports the development and delivery of implementation plans, establishing commercially beneficial delivery models and leading on innovation & best practice.
  • Supports leadership and direction in the Construction & Project Delivery team, delivers timely feedback to ensure a cohesive operational unit and the optimum use of team skills
  • Lead by example with the purpose to inspire the team within the program team
  • Monitors work assignments for adherence to timelines and compliance with policies and processes
  • Develops and implements action plans to address performance gaps
  • Leads high-performing, multi-disciplined teams
  • The ability to lead, engage, motivate, and coach others. To act as a role model and inspire and empower others. Competent in mentoring and coaching at levels within the team
  • Support negotiations with third parties
  • Articulate a delivery vision and common culture
  • Create the environment for the successful implementation of processes
  • Creating and delivering persuasive and engaging presentations to a wide range of audiences in our industry
  • Leads and strategizes collaboration model internally and externally

  • Manage and implement the assigned projects from inception through to completion
  • Formulate a resource allocation strategy and utilize this to distribute work and budgets
  • Review and ensure adherence to the overall scope, schedule, and budget
  • Identify risks and entrench mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Monitor and report on performance against project requirements, schedule, milestones, budgets, quality measures, and KPIs, and address issues with corrective actions as appropriate to ensure excellence and adherence to specified deadlines
  • Evaluate the project's effectiveness by consulting with clients and other stakeholders
  • Establish and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations to various audiences, including the project team, client executives, key stakeholders, and Operations
  • Oversee ongoing quality control, participate in quality issue resolution, and manage internal quality control checks for the project
  • Define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project and program life cycle

Qualifications Required

Experience:

Minimum of 12 years of experience in Project Management

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Licenses OR Certifications:
  • Holding a recognized Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Skills and Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of construction methodology, innovative methods of delivery, technology, planning, delivery, site logistics, commercial & legal / contract issues
  • Strong understanding of prevailing Project Management methods
  • Sound knowledge of contract & commercial procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance
  • Sound project management expertise
  • Good oral and written communication skills, clear and concise; good presentation skills
  • Stays up to date with key industry/professional trends through networking and Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • Updates colleagues & clients on industry trends
  • Understand different types of contracts and able to give advice to clients
  • Knowledge of BIM and able to give advice to clients and articulate BIM strategy
  • Proficient in office technology, software and applications.
  • The individual will take ownership to identify, solve and overcome challenges, whilst keeping other abreast of developments
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in Project Management software
  • Must maintain professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
  • Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
  • Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
  • Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
  • Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
  • Proven capacity to anticipate, identify, and minimize risks
  • Expert ability to detect, capitalize, and be sensitive to others' strengths
  • Demonstrated capability to supervise, delegate, and develop capacity
  • Tact to perceive and ameliorate conflict and tension
  • Effectively leads multi-resource Project Management teams
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation, and overall excellence
  • Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
  • Proven success in providing on-site leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
