The salary range for this position is CAD $42.CAD $52.Come work as a Substance Use Outreach Clinician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Substance Use Outreach Clinician to join the Aftercare Clinicians team in Richmond, BC.

As a Substance Use Outreach Clinician with VCH you will:
~ Use an outreach model that is strengths-based and inclusive of harm reduction approaches, this position will support client goals including detox/substance use stabilization, treatment and recovery programming, as well as those in the pre-contemplative stage, in addition to supporting wellness initiatives.
~ Collaborates with multidisciplinary team and other community resources, liaises and consults with internal/external physicians, governmental and community social service, health and mental health agencies to facilitate clients' wellness journeys.
~ Participates in committees and meetings, engages in on-going team planning, development and quality improvement activities, and maintains and updates own knowledge.
~ Liaise and consult with internal/external physicians, governmental and community social service, health and mental health agencies to facilitate clients' wellness journeys.
~ Provides direct clinical services in the form of immediate assessment, intervention, referral and support to clients in urgent situations.
~Acts as client advocate, supports client' recovery goals including building recovery capital, develops, coordinates and delivers evidence based treatment/interventions.

Two (2) years' recent experience practicing in community based or Indigenous-led or First Nations organizations working with individuals with substance use and mental health presentations; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

C. driver's license. Local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage reimbursement will be paid.
Demonstrate knowledge of substance-use recovery services in the community and across British Columbia.
Broad knowledge of other facilities and community resources

Broad knowledge of legislation and government policies and procedure that relate to client care including the BC Mental Health Act.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues, clients and their families, students and service providers in health and social services.

Ability to conduct a risk assessment and respond appropriately.
Ability to operate a computerized client care information system and word processing, spreadsheet, Internet and email software.

As per the current Public Health Orders, as of October 5, 2023, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received a single dose of the most-recent, updated COVID-19 vaccine.

Proof of vaccination status will be required.
