Finish Paving Roller Operator

Our grading and paving division has worked on many different types of projects around the city of Calgary from small patches to sub-divisions to interchanges to large commercial sites and consistently provides the highest quality work on schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate roller in continuous overlapping passes over asphalt to be compacted to desired depth and smoothness.
- Performs daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks to proactively identify any potential mechanical issues and advises the Foreman.
- Behave in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their coworkers, and others on the work sites.
- Assists other employees when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating a roller.
- Active Construction Safety Training System (CSTS2020) Certification.
- Must have own transportation with strong knowledge of Calgary and surrounding area.
- Must be able to work as a member of a greater team.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Must be available to work long hours including evenings and weekends during the work season from April to December.
- Must be able to work in extreme heat up to and could exceed 64 Celsius.
- Must have CSAapproved safety boots.
- Able to sit for long periods of time and look over the shoulder.
- Able to climb up and down from equipment.
