Job Opportunity:

Unified Alloys is a key player in the supply of specialty steel, alloy piping, and instrumentation products in Canada. We're on the lookout to grow our Sales Operations team and currently have an opening for a Technical Sales Representative at our Dorval location.

Essential Responsibilities:

As a vital part of the team, the Technical Sales Representative will be in charge of selling products or services to meet business objectives with top-notch telephone sales and communication skills, adopting a respectful and knowledgeable approach. Moreover, the role involves driving revenue growth by generating sales leads, making prospect calls, and nurturing relationships with existing and potential customers to drive future sales.

Overview of Technical Sales Representative Role:

  • Accurately handle customer transactions like orders, quotes, returns, or concerns.
  • Secure new and repeat sales by providing precise product and technical details promptly.
  • Boost sales and average order size through cross-selling and up-selling to enhance customer satisfaction and elevate transaction profitability.
  • Discuss price, credit, and terms as per standard procedures and customer profitability profiles.
  • Check in with customers post-sales to ensure ongoing satisfaction and address any issues.
  • Organize and manage customer files, fulfill requests for catalogs, information, or samples.
  • Obtain precise details from vendors regarding shipment dates and anticipated delivery date.
  • Notify the purchasing department of unexpected spikes or drops in product demand.
  • Maintain up-to-date records on sales calls, customer interactions, and meeting specifics in the necessary format and within deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated mastery and implementation of effective sales strategies including prospecting, lead qualification, deal closure, and successful sales growth to meet targets.
  • Capacity to persuade customers, offer competitive pricing, and negotiate favorable terms to hit sales quotas and maximize revenue.
  • Apt at recognizing customer needs and providing suitable solutions, fostering trust and relationships leading to repeat business and referrals.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, negotiation, pricing tactics, and objection handling in a high-paced setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of stainless-steel pipe, fittings, and valves is crucial, covering specifications, sizes, and applications to deliver technical support, recommend suitable products, and address queries on performance and compatibility.
  • Proficiency in sales operations, including logistics, carriers, policies, and procedures.
  • Solid comprehension of risk management.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management software.
  • Strong proficiency in both English and French is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturers and suppliers in the industry would be advantageous.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a keen emphasis on customer service.
